How to Grow Taller and Obtain the Body of Your Dreams

This is the plan to make you strong, tall, slim, and sexy, in your 30s and for many, many years beyond!

When I first met Lauren, my 30-something friend, she told me that her typical diet had been a blueberry muffin or a bagel with cream cheese for breakfast; Chinese food for lunch, and pizza for dinner. Having three or four beers after work, skipping exercise, and paying no attention to what she ate had often accompanied her late-20s lifestyle.

Lauren emphasized that sticking to strict rules as she'd previously tried to do wasn't an option anymore, because while she wanted to be at a healthy weight, she also wanted to enjoy her life and grow taller. And that life had become much more hectic: she changed careers, she had a demanding and time-crunched job, and she recently started living with her boyfriend. She didn't have the time or patience at this point to count fat grams or worry about carbs.

Lauren was aware that her prior eating habits were not necessarily going to help her drop the 20 pounds she was looking to lose, but she didn't know how to go about changing what had to be changed especially because she had tried lots of diets without great success throughout her 20s.

When I asked Lauren what her top two diet downfalls were, she cited some food issues that are pretty universal among our age-group. The first was the "all-or-nothing" syndrome thinking that if you're going to eat healthy, you have to eat healthy all of the time.

This style of thinking led Lauren to binge when she fell off track. The second main diet downfall for Lauren was nighttime eating and nibbling on empty calories throughout the evening, or even downing half a bag of tortilla chips and salsa for dinner, especially when she came home late. Lauren simply didn't know what she should eat for dinner, and many times, dinner took the form of a snacking binge.

The first goal I worked on with Lauren was to change her perspective on eating and challenge her thinking on what constituted the "perfect" diet. I informed her that a nutritious weight-loss plan can include small indulgences, even on a daily basis, and would prevent feelings of deprivation. So, right off, we worked on incorporating a "sweet budget" in Lauren's plan, with a specific allotment of 100 calories per day. (If she exercised on a particular day, we boosted the sweet budget up to 200 calories.) In this way, a healthy diet was one that included sweets. From a psychological point of view, this feature worked extremely well for Lauren.

I also believed that Lauren would benefit from having simple rules when it came to deciding what to eat, especially for lunches and dinners. I worked with Lauren on the "30s plate": one-third protein, one-third carbohydrates (ideally whole grains), and one-third vegetables. As I reviewed Lauren's list of favorite foods, I came up with meal combinations that fit the grow taller 4 smarts program.

After a couple of weeks, Lauren told me that the smart plate approach was working out well for her. The lunch and dinner meal ideas proved simple enough to follow, and she liked the fact that the guidelines I gave her didn't require much thought.

Lauren loved the fact that she could have a comfort snack each day. She found that being able to have this treat made The grow taller 4 smarts program is livable and doable. Putting all of her diet pieces together, Lauren quickly shed the weight she'd been hoping to lose22 pounds!

She discovered that by using simple guidelines for her meals, and by eating her favorite snack foods to grow taller in controlled portions, she could enjoy her life and still lose weighta concept she had heard before but never really understood.

Being overweight in Lauren's 30s was a bigger matter than just size 10 jeans; heart disease and diabetes run in her family, and by eating nutritionally balanced meals and snacks, she was optimizing her chances of combating these diseases. What's more, Lauren found that the lifestyle approach to her eating carried over into her exercise habits. She had started training for her first 5K, and the grow taller 4 smarts program gave her a needed energy boost for her weekly runs.

Lauren is just one of many success stories of the grow taller program. You too can achieve the slimness, strength, and good health that Lauren and others have attained on this fabulous eating plan!
