So you have just installed your new HDTV, flat screen or have added an audio surround sound system. Now if you could just find a way to hide those unsightly wires you would feel much better about how this incredible new system looks in your living room. You are not alone; because of all the new components that go into creating the home theater experience you may find that you have wires running all over the wall where you have mounted your new entertainment system. This can truly take away from the viewing experience. There are three things that you can do to make these wires blend into their current environment that don't really require much technical knowledge and can really change the look of the entire system.
1.You can hide the wires by painting over them. Most of the time you will still be able to see the wires. Begin by pinning the wires to the wall using the small wire pins that you can pick up at any hardware store. Be sure to flatten the wires and pin them tightly. If you find that you have multiple wires, then pin them together and then to the wall. Try to run them along corners so as to make them less unsightly. Then match your wall paint exactly and paint right over them. This may require more than one coat depending on the color of the wall and the color of the wires. This will make them much less noticeable.
2. You can run the wires through a wiring solution tube. Basically an excellent choice if you are not handy enough to run your wires up through the wall these tubes can be put in place and then you can very simply run the wires through them. When you are done paint over the tubing and you are done. You can purchase "Wiring Solutions" or you can make your own if you are handy enough. This is an excellent solution in places where you can't really make holes through the walls like in apartments.
3. Drill holes and run the wires through. Many people have found that this method is excellent for concealing wires from home entertainment systems. Just drill one hole at the point of entry where it exits the device and drill another hole where you want it to wind up, either at the electrical outlet or another device. Then run your wires accordingly and then fill the holes with plaster and paint. This is the best way to make those wires disappear.
No matter what devices you are installing, by choosing one of the three methods listed above you can get a clean looking wall with no unsightly wires.About the Author:
