How to Increase your Search Engine Rankings with Backlinks
To increase your search engine rankings, you must learn how to link back to your websites or you will have a serious lack of income. Without these skills, you just won't generate any interest in your site. But if you were thinking that all this SEO stuff is like learning rocket science, then you are wrong.
But first lets explain a little bit about the fundamentals of link building, before I give you a couple of tips.
Basically, these are links on other websites or social platforms that link back to your own site. And a search engine will determine the importance of a website, by the number and quality of backlinks pointing to any given page (along with several other factors). You may be thinking that this is like trying to figure out the symbols in the Japanese alphabet, but it really isn't that difficult to generate these important links.
And when the search engine spiders see that other websites and articles on forums are linking back to a site, they see this as people valuing the content of that site. In the early days of internet marketing, this was more obvious. Don't ever forget, that the engines know about every link building strategy there is. They will know something tomorrow, if they don't know it today.
Ok, so how do we start generating links back to your website? The one and only greatest method to get inbound links (in my opinion) is to write high quality content on your website, because when you give people something of high value, they will want to come back to it and even share it. Build a bridge with people, solve a problem for them, provide them with knowledge which they never knew before. And by answering their questions, they will come back to your website over and over again. Great content, which people like to read always comes out on top.
When someone visits a page on your site, you want them to read more pages and return to it because they feel comfortable there. This is the reason you built the website, remember - to keep people coming back and repeat buying your products. When the search engines see a link pointing from one site to your own, it is a natural progression for them to send their spiders or crawlers over to your own site, this is their preferred way of indexing a webpage. Thus your site is entering the search engines, not by your own doing but from the links which point to it.
And finding places where to get quality links is fairly easy, but it takes time! I prefer article marketing and submitting content to blog networks, but there are also a number of tools like Market Samurai (see my website), which are free that seek out places to link from.
You get 'link juice' from the article itself and when a reader enjoys your article or finds it useful, they are likely to post it to their own site, providing you with a further inbound link. I see this every day - and you can't beat getting links for free!
Other sources are blog comments, bookmarking sites like Digg and also RSS feeds. They are all great places to get links. Go to my site and look for a great tool, called Backlink Battleplan which will teach you all you need to know about backlinking.
