How to Make Money on Internet

In 1998 I joined a new company and befriended a colleague who was maybe 10 years younger than me

. I remember asking this colleague if he could explain to me how I might use a search engine. We looked at Yahoo! And he asked by what I wanted to search for, guess what? I didn't know.

Eventually I pulled onto the idea of how a search engine works and we were able to surf a number of websites but I still didn't get the point. You see, there was nothing to see on these websites. There were no interesting graphics the main thing was just a list of products the company made and there was certainly no functionality that would allow us to buy anything.

So that was 1997. 10 years later and the Internet has completely revolutionised the way we search for information, the way we do business and of course the way we shop. Frankly I find it very difficult to remember how I booked a vacation before the advent of the world wide web.

About five years later I remember a friend of mine starting to build a website and he did it for the fun of it. He was something of an IT geek and and simply loved to play around with computers. Guess what? I didn't see the point!

I then started to see websites more and more with people putting up information about things in which they were interested without really understanding the potential business opportunity that they were creating. They were just doing it for the fun and also maybe for their 15 minutes of fame.

Well I guess they were the lucky ones because it took me a while to cotton on and I didn't start writing my website until 2006 when not only had many people got a head start on me but the point started to slap people in the face. By that I mean that Google had understood the power of web traffic and created a pay per click advertising revolution.

All of a sudden web builders were not only getting their fun and their kicks and possibly a little bit of fame, they were also starting to make money. Putting it simply, if you were writing about something which was both interesting and popular then you stood a good chance of getting a lot of visitors to your website and what these website owners started to realise very quickly was that they could guarantee that a percentage of their site visitors would click on adverts.

So make your own website, keep building it, make it as big as possible and you will get lots of site visitors. More site visitors you get, the more ads they click on, the more money you make. It sounds easy doesn't it?
