This is usually done to commemorate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, the son of God.
Easter is the time of springtime holiday celebrations. Easter is an ancient holiday that is celebrated in many countries. Christians gather together on Easter Sunday for a Sunrise Service. This service takes places on a hill side so everyone can see the sun rise.
Some Christians take part in an Easter vigil, lighting a new fire outside the church early on Sunday morning. The Paschal candle, decorated with studs to celebrate Christ's wounds, may be lit from the fire and carried into the church where it is used to light the candles of the worshippers. The Easter Eucharist is a particularly joyful service. It is a popular time for baptisms and renewal of baptism vows.
The manner in which Easter is celebrated differs from one place to another. For instance, in Bulgaria, Easter eggs are not hidden but people have egg fights. In the United States of America, an Easter Party for children is hosted by the President. A highlight of this event is the egg rolling race. In Egypt, Easter Sunday is a public holiday that marks an ancient spring festival. Egyptians spend the day in parks and gardens. However, in most countries that celebrate Easter, two customs are honored: people decorated or chocolate eggs as gifts and children hunt for hidden eggs.
Every country has its own way of celebrating Easter. Not taking into account the manner in which you enjoy or celebrate this day, the actual happiness is experienced within you. Even if you just light a small candle in the corner of your house, but you have immense love for the Lord, be assured that God is watching you from above. His love for mankind will never fade. So, celebrations don't necessarily restrict you to Easter 2011 but many such Easter celebrations in the years to come.
Wherever you go to celebrate Easter, maybe a car GPS will guide you to your destination and avoid being lost. And nowadays as people are becoming busier in their lives, the religious significance of Easter is also changing. People just take Easter as the expansion to their holidays and having a chance to spend more time with their friends and family. They even can go traveling anywhere with their car entertainments to kill time.
