How will Windows look like in 10 years time?

What will Windows look like in 10 years time? Only God knows? Computers and technology changes every 18 months with doubling of speed and increased capacity, then there are the new computer theories and materials. Have you seen some of the new computerized cars being developed? You should also factor in a little bit of Quantum physics, changing tastes and the future of any operating system is any body's guess. It is just that, a guess.

Trying to make an accurate, educated guess in Windows systems is almost impossible Will there even be computers as we know them today or will they be "virtual", something the size of a pen and projected onto a surface, these types of computers already exist! The operating system will need to be made to handle the programming.

What color will it be? Probably multicolored with three dimensional graphics that spin and you end up with a cube. The cube will have different sections, several on each face, like a Rubic's Cube. You can then spin the cube and find every thing you need, but not exactly what you want. Icons may be more graphic and possibly more personalized.

The operating system will key to voice recognition or eye movement, some of these are already in the developmental stages. You order the cube to spin and rotate or just tel it what you want. You will probably be able to dictate articles such as this. Sounds like Science Fiction? The systems are already being developed for use by the physically challenged, in 10 years they will be standard operations.

As for the mouse, it might still be needed for games but that is all.

This will mean the operating systems will be faster and easier to use, but it means the people using them will have less to do, so operating systems could become more game-like, but will definitely have a set of standard games and probably more complex than Free Cell or Spider Solitaire.

Is this what the Windows operating system will look like in 10 years time? It is what it could look like in 10 years time, but no one really knows exactly what it will look like, except God and he isn't writing any articles! On this topic, I am not sure I should be either.
