Hot water circulates around these tubes. Through this process, hate radiates evenly on your floor surface. Hot water can also circulate in your radiators or baseboard heating unit.
So, how is the heat produced?
The liquid has to be heated first before it can run through the pipes. It is heated in a boiler and it flows to your plumbing manifold system.
What is a plumbing manifold system?
It is considered as the control center. It basically connects to the thermostat and directs the right temperature of liquid that is to be distributed to the different heating zones in your house. This way, the heat in each zone in your home is personalized and the temperature of the heat that it receives is steady. Then, we also have the pumps that facilitate the easy circulation of heated water into the entire tubes.
Then, as the water cools, it goes back to the boiler where it will be reheated and returned to the circulation again.
The thing about radiant heating is that it gives you superior comfort. The heat basically radiates evenly and consistently from the floor. However, traditional forced-air systems do not work this way. Traditional forced-air system leaves several hot and cold spots. This is because of poor circulation. At the same time the temperature is also not consistent.
Underfloor hydronic system, on the other hand, provides steady heat that starts from the floor and into the entire room. Therefore, during cold days, you don't have to deal with cold tile floors.
