Hyundai Dealers In Indianapolis Excited About The Sonata Hybrid
Plug it in! Plug it in! This could be the new song for the 2011 Sonata Hybrid
, Hyundais first gas-electric vehicle in the U.S. market. The car is already highly anticipated by Hyundai dealers in Indianapolis and their customers.
Even those of us who have been wary of the electric hybrids will have to give this new Sonata some attention. Different from most other hybrids in its speed and use of power, it demands to be noticed. This car brings together all the best parts of a hybrid, like the great mileage and the environmental consciousness, and the best parts a traditional vehicle, like speed and power.
The Sonata Hybrid was unveiled earlier this year at the New York Auto Show and uses a parallel hybrid system which means the Sonata can run on electricity, the gasoline engine or a combination of both. But this four-door uses something that most hybrids dont lithium polymer battery technology. This battery should help increase the efficiency of the vehicle.
Indianapolis used car dealers are excited about what Hyundai President and CEO John Krafcik calls the new kid on the block. About the Sonata, Krafcik says, Its full parallel hybrid configuration and breakthrough lithium polymer batteries offer a new take on traditional hybrid design, while its unique design sets it apart from the mid-sized hybrid pack. Dealers believe this design will be a winner with Hyundai fans.
With speed capabilities up to 62 mph on electric power and fuel economy hitting the 37 mph mark in the city and 39 mpg highway, the Sonata is on the cutting edge of hybrid technology and will compare more equally with a non-hybrid vehicle. Now hybrid owners wont have to feel they have compromised something in order to drive an efficient, eco-friendly car.
With that much speed we would expect more power and the Sonata Hybrid delivers. Being the lightest car in its class at 3,457 pounds, it also leads in horsepower output with 209 hp, which is achieved with a six-speed automatic transmission rather than the continuously variable transmission found in most hybrids.
Hyundai dealers in Indianapolis also appreciate the changed-up taillights and headlights, eco-spoke wheels, the hexagonal grille, aerodynamic front fascia and Hybrid Blue Drive badges. Sonata also features color choices unique to the hybrid. Inside we will find more hybrid-only colors as well as seat patterns and a supervision cluster with eco-display options.
Although we are still waiting to hear a price point on the 2011 Sonata Hybrid, the cost will be made public in the next few months and buyers will likely decide this hybrid is worth every penny. Customers of Indianapolis used car dealers will want to check out all the new and unique features sported by the Sonata Hybrid.
