I Don't Need A Tap Water Purifier. Are You Crazy?
Over the past 20 years or so, confidence in the safety of drinking water has led to millions of consumers turning to tap water purifiers.
As you are someone who doesn't have one of those devices installed in your home, you might believe that people are all concerned over nothing. However when you really become aware of what contaminants exist in your water supply, you will realize that this isn't the time to worry but a time for action.
What Is In Your Water Supply.
A probe conducted by the Associated Press discovered a myriad of drugs in drinking water of 40 million Americans. We are talking about some serious medications that were discovered; antibiotics, antidepressants, cancer drugs and sex hormones - all of which were found in biologically active form. This means that if you ingest them via a glass of water it has the capability to affect your body.
Another study found rocket fuel in some water supplies and as a matter of fact, it is estimated that 20 million American households have been affected by this contaminant.
Rocket fuel is not the only chemical that could be in drinking water. Industrial activity releases huge amounts of volatile organic chemicals in water as well.
And perhaps the most frightening contaminants found in the water supply are microbes. Some like cryptosporidium and giardia are resistant to municipal chlorination.
When you consider these contaminants, it is no wonder millions of people have turned to tap water purifiers.
