There is always one classic story to be told. Boy meets girl, they fall in love, then boy loses girl and wants her back. Some may say it is so common, that you could put an ad in the local paper saying:

"I want to get my ex girlfriend back - How do I do it?"

Even though this is so common, it is still not easy when it is you who this is happening to. There is no need to give up though. You still have ways in which you can better yourself and maybe even get your ex girlfriend back as well. These ways come in just three easy steps.

The first step is to stop trying to contact her. This means no calls, texts, or emails. It may be hard, but you do not want to drive her away by chasing after her. Just give her space. Also keep in mind that no one is attracted to a weak and insecure person and your ex is no exception. It is best not to be clingy.

The second step is to have fun. This may sound unhelpful, but it works. You should go out somewhere with your friends and try to live your life to the fullest. You can benefit from this by your ex hearing about all the fun you are having and she will start missing the fun that you two used to have together. Also going out will help take your mind off of her for a bit, which keeps you from going crazy.

This does not mean that you should be doing this in order to get back at her and make her jealous. That is just very immature and childlike. If you truly do care about her, then you will avoid playing childish games with her. No relationship can be build on or around that.

The third step is to try communicating with her. When communicating, you do not argue with or badger her, you just talk. Be sure to listen to her. This is not about who is right and who is wrong, it is about understanding where the other is coming from. Do not let your ego get in the way when doing this.
