IIPM takes India Inc by storm

The IIPM has been setting new benchmarks in B-School placements by providing skilled talent to the industry, now for over 37 years

. The last five years is especially a story to tell.

More than 10,000 students at IIPM have been placed on campus in the last 5 years spanning more than 1500 companies. This has powered IIPM's Placements to a level that is unparalleled to any other B-School in the country rather globally since IIPM's international placements have also set a new benchmark. More than 250 IIPM students got internationally placed in the last 3 years on campus. The last two years have seen IIPM Delhi getting the highest numbers in global placements in India with 165 students in the year 2008 and 55 students in the year 2009.

Placements are a reflection of an institution's academic superiority and corporate recognition, all the more when it happens consistently year after year. And IIPM's 100 per cent placement record consistently since 2006 underlines the same.

With the recession bottoming out, the companies are insistently fetching for fresh blood to put their businesses back on the fast track. The current year for the class of 2010 has already witnessed 2480 on campus recruitments and it is not over yet with the remaining 140 students also likely to get placed soon! Average all India packages this year has been 4.63 lacs so far. The largest numbers of jobs in campus this year have been for Marketing and Sales followed by Finance and then HR.

BFSI (Banking Financial Services and Insurance) corporations which have been the dominant recruiters at all campuses for the last four years making 50% of offers, had suddenly vanished from campuses in 2009, but are now back this year with about 20% of offerings. Leading BFSI companies like Standard Chartered, HDFC Bank, HSBC, Fidelity, Barclay, India Bulls, India Info line, and some Financial Consulting companies like KPMG (Delhi), Goldman Sachs, E&Y have offered Financial /Business Research profiles to IIPM Students. ICICI has recruited 320 students this year and visited all IIPM campuses and Yes bank, which is this year's largest recruiter at IIM campuses also made sure it visited IIPM Delhi.

Apart from BFSI, leaders in FMCG like Colgate Palmolive and leading brand in consumer durables like Whirlpool have offered opportunities to IIPM students. Amongst other industries being represented at campus were companies like UB Group, Zee Enterprises, Business Octane, JDA Soft offering students packages upwards of 7.50Lacs pa. The icing on the cake has been the highest domestic package of Rs.20 Lac per annum for IIPM student Mr. Amiya Ranjan. The other recruiting industries this year were Advertising, Media and Publishing. Real estate and Manufacturing also came back to campus in a strong way.

This year IIPM has placed 37 students globally so far. The international recruiters included large companies in field of Travel & Logistics, Media, Advertising, FMCG and Manufacturing from Middle-East, Singapore etc.
