INQ Cloud Q and Cloud Touch Facebook Phones
INQ Cloud Q and Cloud Touch Facebook Phones
The INQ Cloud Q and Cloud Touch are two of the first handsets in what could become a popular niche in the world of smartphones. Like the HTC Chacha and Salsa, the two INQ phones come with unparalleled Facebook support and are what is now being dubbed as Facebook Phones. While most smartphones come with at least some form of Facebook support, the level to which this popular social network is integrated into the INQ handsets has been unheard of so far.
While both handsets run on Google Android 2.2 (Froyo) they come with a specially design INQ interface that has Facebook as a core design principle. Information from the social network, such as notifications, events and friend requests, can be displayed directly on the phone's homescreen. As well as this, the INQ phones will provide you with information regarding your most interacted with friends based on Facebook's Social Graph API.
The INQ Cloud Touch also features INQ's Type Keyboard which offers much faster text input and learns your style of typing, and the Cloud Q comes with a compacted BlackBerry style physical keyboard. Both phones are ideal for tapping out messages, whether they be standard text messages, emails, wall posts or just for typing away on Facebook Chat which comes fully supported on both handsets.
The phones have done away with a traditional media player (although you can obtain some from Android Market if you would prefer), and instead opt for Spotify to supply the musical entertainment. This will require a premium Spotify account but does provide and interesting alternative to the standard entertainment protocol, and the INQ phones even come with dedicated Spotify buttons on their exterior for loading their apps. With so much attention paid to Facebook it is a wonder why INQ did not include dedicated Facebook buttons as well, as this was a feature included on HTC's Facebook phones the Chacha and Salsa.
Both phones come with 5 megapixel cameras including autofocus and geo-tagging. These cameras also include video capture support and, of course, easy uploads to Facebook. As both phones come with a limited 4MB internal storage space you will require microSD cards to provide more room for photos, videos and music. The phones support 8GB microSD cards and each INQ handset comes with a 4GB card included.
Both INQ phones come with a fairly similar level of Facebook support, with Facebook built into every nook and cranny of the interface. The main difference between the two devices is in their physical design, with the Cloud Touch going down the full touchscreen route and the Cloud Q taking the path of a QWERTY messaging phone.
Both handsets come with excellent messaging and entertainment options besides Facebook, with access to Android Market and of course the unique Spotify buttons that make these handsets stand out from amongst the multitude of Android devices available. The INQ Cloud phones certainly stand out as being unique and will be of particular interest to Facebook fanatics everywhere, but have a lot more to offer as well.
