When growing up I would watch my brothers and sisters and the many pets that they would have
. My sister was given a bird who was only around a few years. My brother had two hamsters who lasted a bit longer - but they still did not fare too well. I thought that I would be better off without any pet to concern about. That was until my dog was brought to me.
It was an adorable white puppy who was all over me. He craved attention whenever I was around and sulked around the household when I wasn't. The worst part was trying to toilet train him. Every time we stepped outside he became activated and wanted to explore the yard and what laid beyond it.
After a numerous escapes my parents thought that it would be safest to invest in the right kind of dog collar that would shock him if he tried to leave the boundaries of the yard. These collars do not harm the pet - but will aid to give them a slight warning about where the invisible fence is.
In the beginning it was challenging to train him. We taught him where the invisible fence was and he discovered that the shock would occur when he was too close. Yet, this didn't seem to discourage him. We discovered out that it wasn't enough of a shock to get through to him. So we decided to increase it a little bit.
For a little bit we contemplated getting a solar electric fence. It took virtually two weeks of training and a bag of doggy treats for it to get through to him. Now he is content to play with his toys and hang out inside his doggy house. The collar has been a great investment and we are happy to keep him off the streets where he is able to get hurt.
