Ielts Preparation: What Are Some Important Steps You Can Take To Pass The Ielts?

. This test is required for people who are seeking to enter certain countries in order to work or attend school. If you are hoping to pass the IELTS proper preparation is in order to ensure your success. In this article I'm going to discuss a few very important steps you'll need to take in order to have a good chance of passing the IELTS.

You have to be sure not to use slang of any kind

Even though a lot of people use slang, especially American slang, you have to be careful to not do this when taking the test. You must understand that you're not talking to acquaintances or family. It's very easy to make these mental mistakes and they can end up costing you dearly. To give you an example of some of the slang you should try to avoid here are a few words.

Using words like gonna instead of going to, using words like dunno instead of don't know, for using words wanna instead of want to. There a slew of other words I can use as examples but these are just a few you want to avoid.

Practice using full forms of words instead of contractions

Contractions are words that are joined together at not separated. These are going to be the kind of words where you have the option of joining them together or keeping them separate. Some of these words include it's instead of it is, we're instead of we are, they'd instead of they would, and we'd instead of we would.

Hopefully you're beginning to get the idea. There are a lot of these types of words you'll need to be aware of, many times they'll come to you naturally and you'll know right away that you shouldn't be using them. It is okay to use them on the speaking part of your test but not on the writing part.

Practice the writing portion

This is probably one of the most important parts of the test. When you're taking the writing portion you want to make sure not to use weird spellings you've become accustomed to because of technology. This means you won't want to use abbreviated phrases like u instead of you, cya instead of see you, and other abbreviated ways of talking. Internet chat rooms and communication devices such as Skype have enabled this type of communication.

It is very easy to get these phrases confused especially if you aren't a native English speaker. When you're going through your IELTS preparation be sure to keep these things in mind.

Passing the IELTS isn't that hard to do at all. With the right IELTS preparation you should have no problem getting a high enough score to pass. There are numerous ways to prepare for this test in order to ensure success. Once you feel you've had enough preparation it may be best to take the test as soon as possible while the information is still fresh.
