If My Limo Has Car Trouble, Will A Replacement Be Sent Out?

You've made your executive transportation reservations and are looking forward to being picked up in style in an elegant limo

. You asked all the right questions when you were shopping for the perfect executive transportation service to go with....except this one that's been nagging you the past few minutes. You forgot to ask, "If my limo breaks down, will a replacement be sent out?"

Should this question become a reality, it can be a major inconvenience to all concerned, but usually is fixable. This becomes most problematic when the executive transportation has been arranged for a particularly special occasion, such as a wedding or prom night. It's fixable in a relatively short amount of time, for the most part, and the occurrence of this is pretty rare.

However, even though executive transportation services regularly do preventive maintenance on their vehicles, just as with your own car, sometimes something goes wrong. Or a fender bender may occur. The limo company will do everything in its power to get a replacement vehicle to you ASAP, but depending upon how many of their fleet's cars are deployed when something like this happens, it may take awhile.

A good backup plan (especially for a group event, wedding, prom, etc.) would be to have an alternate car and driver or perhaps more than one of each (friends, relatives) available in case of just such an emergency. But truthfully, this type of worst case scenario is truly quite rare. Normally, the driver will call the executive transportation dispatcher immediately, fill them in on the details, and ask that another available limo be sent so that you can get on with the events and festivities you have ahead of you. With luck, your limo rental experience will go off without a hitch. Most do, on average. But should you find yourself in a "pickle," and waiting for a replacement limo, the good news is, larger limo companies can usually get a replacement vehicle to you in under an hour, hopefully closer to 20 or 30 minutes.

If you wind up waiting a few minutes, it's not truly the end of the world, after all, and you needn't let it ruin your entire evening or outing. Getting cross with the driver or dispatcher is not going to get that replacement limo to you any faster, so why go there? Try to remain calm, make some calls and see if anyone is available to help you out sooner, or at least let anyone else involved in your event know that you'll be slightly delayed. Then breathe deeply, do your best to retain your sense of humor, and make a conscious choice to have fun, no matter what. You'll be happier in the long run. And again, the good news is that this type of situation is far from typical. If it happened all the time, executive transportation companies wouldn't still be around, nor as popular as they are. So sit back, relax, and enjoy being chauffeured around in style!
