One of the best methods to quit smoking is stopping gradually. There are a number of ways to go about doing this, so you will have to pick the one that is right for you.
One way to do this is to allow yourself to only smoke in certain areas of your home and then gradually reduce the number of rooms that you are allowed to smoke in. This makes smoking more inconvenient than it was for you before and allows you to have to choose between having a cigarette and doing something that you want to do, like watching television in your living room.
