There are numerous backlinking strategies. One of the easiest and most basic ways to get backlinks is to write articles for article directories. The article directories let you put back links to your website in what is called a resource box or bio box.

Another very effective way to get backlinks is to post relevant information on blogs and forums that have high page ranks. In this case your backlink is part of your signature. If your posts are approved you can rise up in the search engine rankings relatively quickly.

A third way to get backlinks is by building secondary websites that backlink to the pages in your main website. You can do this by either making blogs on some of the popular web 2.0 sites or building sites and having them hosted by different hosting companies around the world.

Although back links are extremely important it does take quite a bit of time and effort to not only do the research but to write effective articles and posts, build blogs and websites, etc. Although the learning curve can be a bit steep, it can be well worth the time invested.
