They've been on the market for a few years, they have an established parent company and the MLM model is completely legitimate
. So why do some people still feel there is an Ignite Scam?
Hitting almost a billion in sales within year 1, Ignite has truly "lit up" the industry in more ways than one. Pioneering the sale of gas and power through multi level distribution channels has certainly raised some eyebrows. Fortunately, the law is on the side of MLM. It's been demonstrated again and again that network marketing is a valid marketing method as long as they steer clear of "pyramid" selling practices. The acid test there is whether or not the customer gets a valid product in return for the dollar investment.
There was law firm in Texas that believed Ignite might be walking the "pyramid" line so they filed suit in 2009. The attorneys claimed that the sign up fee of just under $300 did not deliver enough value to the distributor to be considered a "legitimate business transaction". This lawsuit was quickly thrown out with Ignites reputation in tact.
Some people have had worries that there might be an ignite scam because Chris Domhoff is involved in the management of the company. Mr. Domhoff was president of Excel Communications when it filed bankruptcy in 2004. Everyone makes mistakes right?
Not only does Ignite offer a valid shot to earn income from home - they provide a service that is a necessity for each and every consumer. Energy is something we simply cannot do without.
Although it's not a scam, I would hesitate to join for a couple reasons.
#1) They only operate in Texas and Georgia. For me, I like to work with projects that operate in at least all 50 states.
Second, take a close hard look at the amount of residual income you'll be able to generate per customer with Ignite. Historically, utility companies haven't been able to operate with much margin and as a result, the pay per customer is sometimes low in comparison to other MLM companies.
It's clear there is no Ignite scam and if you're OK with operating in just 2 sates, this company might be a very viable work from home opportunity.
