Ignore Hepatitis Testing And You Are Headed Towards Long Term Illness!!
Hepatitis is a disease that is marked by an inflammation of the liver
. Hepatitis occurs usually when the liver is affected by a virus. Hepatitis can be categorized into A, B, C, D and E. Intake of contaminated food or water can cause hepatitis A and E. When one has fluids transfusion (such as blood) which itself is contaminated, this can cause Hepatitis B, C or D.
Hepatitis B, C or D can also be caused by the use of contaminated equipments that are used in blood transfusion. Even sexual intercourse can cause Hepatitis B, C or D. However, naturally, the specific category of Hepatitis can be ascertained only after Hepatitis testing.
The symptoms of Hepatitis include dark urine, nausea, jaundice (yellow skin), vomiting and severe abdominal pain.
There are several causes for Hepatitis that can be confirmed after Hepatitis testing.
First, one can catch Hepatitis by consuming contaminated food or liquid;
Second, one can catch Hepatitis by using the toilet that has already been used by an infected person;
Third, one can catch Hepatitis by travelling to countries that have Hepatitis and without protection or vaccination;
Fourth, one can catch Hepatitis by having sexual relations with an infected person;
Lastly, one can catch Hepatitis by having blood transfusion where either the blood is originally contaminated with the virus or because of the equipments which are not cleaned and immunized fully. However, the exact cause of Hepatitis can be ascertained only after thorough Hepatitis testing.
How does one treat Hepatitis? The best method is to prevent rather than cure. One has to take the vaccines that are available for all Hepatitis types A, B, C, D and E. Other than that, other precautions can go a long way in treating Hepatitis.
First, the sanitary conditions must be squeaky clean. If an infected person has been using the sanitary, then the sanitary must be disinfected before someone else uses it.
Second, before travelling to countries where Hepatitis is prevalent, you and your child must be vaccinated with the doses for the prevention of Hepatitis.
Third, pregnant mothers, if they are infected through the Hepatitis virus, must contact the doctor for a confirmatory Hepatitis testing and must follow precautions because the infected mother may pass on the disease to the child.
Fourth, one must practice safe sex with condoms. Hepatitis can spread through unsafe sex and through partners who are already infected. Also, avoid having sex with multiple partners.
Fifth, ensure that you wash your hands thoroughly before you eat your meals. When you are taking an injection through needles, insist on ensuring that the needle is not a shared one.
