c) Find out whether or not the locksmith is insured. If during a repair the locksmith damages your property or if his faulty work results in any kind of loss or damages it is important for the locksmith to have insurance to cover your losses.

d) When the locksmith arrives at your place don't forget to ask for identification including a business card and where applicable a locksmith license. In addition to the business card check to see if the invoice includes the name of the company and whether the vehicle of the locksmith has a name that matches the business card, invoice, and/or the bill.

e) Whenever you contact a locksmith always make sure that you are given a quote before they dispatch a service van to your location and be sure and ask the dispatcher that what kind of service vehicle will be coming to your location. And as soon as a service vehicle arrives at your location, be sure to check the locksmiths credentials and have the locksmith give you a written quote. With this quote in hand you will know up front what you are expected to pay.
