Immigration Cap likely to affect Senior Care Staff Shortage
The latest immigration cap undertaken by the British Government is likely to restrict immigration numbers in UK. The latest policy has compelled several senior care service providers having overseas origin to leave the country. Today the senior care sector is striving hard with a handful number of workers after the shortage created by the immigration cap. There are several of them who are wary of their work permit in UK, because most of them are driven out of the country.
As per reports there were seven senior care workers of Philippines origin, who had been offering their services at a Kent, senior care health center; yet they had to leave the country due to immigration rules recently set to put a tab on foreign workers. Neither the employer nor the employees wanted to part with their job in Kent. The British Government's temporary cap on immigration has led several senior care service centers to drop the idea of hiring overseas employees and henceforth have forced them to return back to their respective homelands.
Reports have revealed that employee cuts have been found to rise up to 75% which has caused several senior care centers to struggle due to staff scarcity. The Government has reportedly tightened immigration laws whereby the policies would get more rigid by coming April this year. The reduction would range to around 5%, which is not quite good news for the senior care industry. Workers belonging to the Tier 2 group are facing trouble since many of these employees would be driven out of their UK jobs.
Some of the senior officials bearing overseas origin are deeply concerned with this new policy and feel that this is likely to bring about an adverse impact to the industry. Some feel that this is an absurd policy the British Government is undertaking. A solicitor who is working for the cause feels that the policy is completely incorrect because it is likely increase the unrest in the employment sector. With such huge workforce leaving the EU several industries are likely to suffer.
Some parts of the country are suffering from lack of workforce. The children care sector is the worst hit amongst others, because it is unable to handle kids without aide of specialized and skilled workers. In fact these migrants aren't taking up major jobs in the EU as per reports. There are requirements to know about the apt workforce needs in the United Kingdom. However there are some who admitted to the fact that the policy would help national workers to get trained and skilled on different subjects and render their services as much as they can.
Even those organizations who are into production of senior care products as well as services are finding it too difficult to cope with this workforce scarcity situation.
