. Sometimes they try to help them when they have entered into the country illegally. They try to help them with most legal dealings with coming into this country. They try to help them understand laws that pertain to them and that they have a right to be treated fairly.

Any law firm might have immigrant lawyers with their firm or they have their own private practices. You will find them generally in the areas of the country that deals with more immigrants and illegals than any other areas of the country. You will more than likely see more of these lawyers in cities like Los Angeles and Miami as well as Chicago than you will in other cities.

These lawyers most commonly will work with immigrants and their families. They try to help immigrants who want to live in this country get visas and visas for their families so they can stay together. They will also work to get immigrants business visas so that they can bring their business to this country. Those who find themselves in this country illegally may also get help from immigration lawyers to try and get them legal permission to be in this country. They will work on getting them visas, non immigrant visas or work permits so that they can at least work legally.

Immigration lawyers probably meet a larger variety of people in their line of work than some other types of lawyers. They run into a variety of nationalities and languages. Because of this it is vitally important and sometimes mandatory that they at least be bilingual. This is important since most of the people they will be working with do not speak English.

Immigration law has a variety of different categories. A lot of lawyers will specialize in several different categories. The categories they might specialize in would be deportation laws, asylum, refugees, employment for the immigrants, refugees, criminal offenses, and helping the immigrant acquire citizenship.

Immigration lawyers are required to complete law school, pass a bar exam and also have what is called doctorate of jurisprudence which is an additional three year degree.
