The animal bodies are not much different from bodies of human beings

If humans want to stay healthy, then the animals which they eat need to be healthy as well. The "swine flu" epidemic and the "mad cow" disease showed how infected animals could jeopardize the lives of people who ate them. Hence, the health of these animals is very important since they might have a direct effect on the health of human beings as well.

Animals that are healthy are more resilient to diseases as well as infections. Therefore, in order to stay healthy, animal feeds have to offer them with all the required nutrients. Different animals require different kinds of nutrients and the animal feeds need to be specially designed to give all the nutrients necessary by each species& breeds.

Apart from its nutritional value, the animal feed could also govern medication to animals which are sick or have deficient in few specific areas. These medical animal feeds assist the animals to swallow them effortlessly without any struggle as the medicines are totally and properly mixed with their food. Most often, it would smell as well as taste like regular animal feed and the animals will not even find any difference.

Most of the developed nations have laws & regulations when it comes to animal feeds. But, not all the countries have strict criteria for animal feeds. Thus, it is as per the individual companies to implement their own standards & safety measures for the animal feed which they produce. A lot of large companies in many developing nations have taken up the accountability of forming quality criterions for their products which are developed for animals. By following the quality standards, these companies have been able to come up with good animal feed as well as medicated feed that are safe & effective for a wide range of animal species.
