The more you don't use your muscles or break up these bonds the stronger they get, and the harder they become to remove.

The bonding process usually happens when you're sleeping because you aren't using any of your muscles but if you get an injury that inhibits movement they will have time to form then as well. These bonds' form between the moving surfaces of your muscles through a process of covalent and hydrogen bonding which can lead to adhesions, impeded muscle movement, and stiffness. Just like the cobwebs the less you clean them out the thicker and stronger they get.

Morning Stretching

One of the toughest parts of the day is getting yourself out of bed, and usually the first thing you do is stretch out with a big yawn. This is a natural instinct that's in all animals and the reason you do it is to get rid of the stiffness in your muscles which is caused from the bonding.

And example would be if you've ever seen a dog or cat get up from a nap the first thing they do is stretch out all of their muscles and limber up.

All of this is why stretching is your first, and one of your best defenses against these bonds. A pre-morning stretch breaks up these bonds and helps you feel fresher through the day.

Exercises

Another great way to free up your muscles is by putting your workouts in the morning. This is especially effect if you have an office job because it frees up all of your muscles before you sit down at your desk. Here are some great exercises that you should include in your morning workouts:

Deep Squats: No workouts complete without squats. They are one of the best exercises you can because they work almost all of the different muscle groups.

Lunges: These are another popular body weight exercise that is good for strengthening your leg muscles. Lunges are a very versatile exercise that can be done a number of different ways to achieve varying results.

Shoulder Circles: These are great for stretching out the muscles in your shoulders and they are very easy to do at the start of any workout.


Massage Therapy

If you get an injury that stops movement in a limb, say a shoulder injury and you can't move it for an extended period then one of the best ways to keep it feeling loose, and to speed up recovery is to get a deep tissue massage. These massages manually target each muscle and work to free up any bonding or adhesions that may have formed.

So remember to keep using your muscles, and that a great pre-morning ritual to get into is stretching. If you stretch every morning before you start your day you will find yourself feeling more alert and fresh.
