Important Tips for HP LaserJet 5500 Printer Users

Lets first talk about the PowerSave Time feature. This powerful feature enables you to reduce power consumption significantly. It works when your printer is on for quite sometime, but completely inactive. It is totally adjustable and you set the length of time. Even though the default setting is 30 minutes, but you can adjust that when you want it to go into PowerSave mode. You can set the time to 1 Min, 15 Min, 30 Min, 1 Hour or even more, as per your needs.

Having said that, lets talk about the option to report when supplies are low. There are two options actually and the default is CONTINUE. The other option is STOP. Lets now see what they are:

CONTINUE: Your printer displays a warning, but continues to print until you replace the supply.

STOP: The printer stops printing until you go ahead and replace the used supply. You can also press ? to continue printing. However, the printer will continue to display the warning.

JAM recovery is another thing that you should be aware of as a user of LaserJet 5500 printer by Hewlett Packard. Even though the default value is AUTO, but you have options to choose how printer should react in such a situation, including how it should handle the pages that are involved in it. ON is another option you can use and the printer will reprint any pages that will cause a paper jam.

Lets talk about the Printer Memory now. Up to 416 MB of memory is supported by this printer. You can install more DIMMs to increase memory. To ensure that you easily add more memory, the printer provides 3 DIMM slots. Please note that EDO DIMMs are not supported by this printer.
