This helps you get a more direct and definitive response from the curious client which leads to quicker appointments being made. Now ask yourself, with everyone out there now using spam filters (especially busy decision makers), do you really think your follow-up exchange is going to go smoothly without the hitch of your responses running smack dab into them? At the very least, gatekeepers go away once their boss tells them to give you a pass.

Another way that inbound telemarketing can generate leads is by helping you retain old clients. Remember the example of calling a company in case there's something wrong? Go back to that. This time though, imagine that you're the company being called. Once your telemarketers have successfully helped the client, that client is happy right? So what do happy clients do?

They keep coming back.

This can be a life-saver during hard times when new leads are hard to come by. And you have to face it, that can be for a majority of the time when you're a B2B outfit. Retaining the interest of past clients can also mean they're more open to anything new that you might have.

A lot of people really need to stop underestimating the relevance that telemarketing still has these days. Despite the lead generation forays of many businesses into the new frontier created by the birth of the internet, telemarketing still manages (easily no less) to not only keep up with them but also work together with them (as shown with inbound telemarketing).
