After finding out your employee's assessment of you and your business, you can move the dialogue to a more personal exchange. Ask your employee's what they can improve on; the majority of the time, they'll have the same carps as you. By asking, however, you are shifting their perspective, which refocuses the issues from you to them. Your employee will now take responsibility for actions that are unproductive to their business.

From here, you can join forces with your employees to establish goals. Everyone has room to grow, and it is helpful to strategize how to go about progress. Action steps and time frames are a must; you cannot expect results if you don't provide proper guidelines.

Find out what steps each employee is comfortable with taking, and how long you can expect them to get there. Let your employee's know that you are there for support, and that their action plan plays a huge part in the success of your business.

By seizing the opportunity to work with your staff, you are allowing your business the prospect of prosperity. Your employee's will observe how their efforts affect the business as a whole, and ultimately, their bottom line.
