The long-standing third wicket partnership of 170 runs between Bell and Strauss almost paved the way for emerging as the winner of the match. However, it was Zaheer Khan's captivating bowling spell that dismissed the powerful duo in two consecutive balls. While Ian Bell was caught by Kohli, Strauss was given a plumb lbw. The tail-enders of the England team was not in a mood to give up. Swann and Shahazad managed to save England from the jaws of defeat and managed to scramble a thrilling tie.
