Hindus dont consider marriage as an arrangement for official sex but consider it as divine event. According to Hindus, the alliance is a union of two families, as well as the union between two individuals. The marriage ceremony will be taking place in the presence of parents, relatives and friends. So, the marriage becomes a social bond as well a commitment. Two people who are said to be compatible are brought together in the form of a lifelong relationship at a ceremony called 'marriage'. The idea behind the institution of marriage in Hinduism is to foster, not self-interest, but love for the entire family. Practice of self-restraint is the ideal of marriage in Hinduism. It is the love and duty cultivated for the entire family that prevents the break-ups. Hence, importance of finding first perfect match is very essential and very imperative. Divorce is a bad word and no one wants to marry on trial and error basis or enter into living relationship before marriage. But with changing time and complex modern life style, the need for having like-minded and compatible partner to avoid future difference and end of marriage, has become extremely difficult. This very reason has forced many to take corrective steps before marriage than be remorseful later on.
