Sinderon SinCast is a VLC front end that makes it easy for people to stream music, video, and TV to different destinations simultaneously and on-demand over HTTP.

Because VLC is an open source project, programmers can get a copy of the source code and modify it to suit their specific needs and make it do new things. You can now get versions of it for the iPad, the iPod Touch, and the iPhone 4, and a version for Android is anticipated in early 2011. You can also get a version of the media player that only takes up 20MB and will run directly from an external drive (like a thumb drive) so you can take VLC with you on a device to use on other computers.

For those who simply want a universal media player, VLC is straightforward and easy to use. You can use it to watch DVDs, YouTube videos, and many times you can use it to listen to audio from CD image files without having to mount the actual CD.
