Insect bites are normally painful. It always amazes me how such a tiny animal can impart so much pain onto someone millions of times larger. Some people are not badly effected by any insect bite, but others are badly affected, even suffering anaphylactic shock as a result.

Bee, wasp and ant stings are probably at the top of list as far as the seriousness of the condition is.

Lets have a look at the typical appearance of these:
