Integration Situation in the Bearing Industry

As to China's bearing industry, it is necessary to develop information technology

, digitize the production equipments, and webify the management so as to accelerate the development of the integration project from both the industry level and the enterprise level.

The government should set good example to push the development of the bearing industry. The relevant departments must implement the demonstration project. They should choose 2~3 representative enterprises as the model of business enterprises and carry out the project. Besides, they should summarize and promote their typical experiences so as to promote industry-wide integration of the two. Moreover, they should try their best to lead the IT vendors to concern about some hot issues and difficult problems of bearing companies so as to provide solutions for the enterprises.

Government should provide monitoring services. Some relevant departments should monitor the operation situation during the whole process of various companies in bearing industry. Additionally, they should set a platform for bearing service, publish reports about the development information of industry regularly and work guidance for enterprises so as to provide services for the enterprisers.

From the enterprise level, many relevant companies should promote integration project from four aspects, those are benefit drives, overall planning, step-by-step implementation, and key breakthroughs.

The driving force, the starting point and destination of the integration project are the benefits. Benefits which are mentioned here include customer satisfaction, FPY of products, market responsiveness, order on time delivery rate, the increase of goods delivery rate, and enterprises competitiveness. The last one further includes the economic benefits which is marked by the profit growth and reduce of the production costs and the social benefits which are marked by the energy conservation, safe production and social contribution rate of total assets.

It is a pity that the application of information technology in many bearing enterprises is mostly at the low level. The information technology is not well applied to core business processes. Moreover, bearing companies are not rational in choosing the IT vendors. Many of them pay more attention to the prices but less to the performances which will obviously affect the effectiveness of information technology. The application of the information technology used in bearings and bearing manufacturing process has just started, thus it has not done in-depth research on bearing products. Therefore, it still has a long way to go. This technology has only made progresses in the application of lathes and CNC technology.
