Onicidium orchids differ in appearance depending on their specie. Generally speaking, oncidiums can grow to about one foot high. Its leaves may vary from slim and pencil-shaped to thick and rubbery. All large orchids will produce blooms that can be dramatic. On the other hand smaller orchids will more likely to produce delicate but attractive flowers.
Similar to the Epidendrum orchids, the Oncidium are also sympodial orchids. When it is grown in a pot, they will grow along, adapting to the media being used. It is common to find them having horizontal stems. The plant's growth may look similar with the fingers when they are on the medium's surface. But when it is mounted, the orchid has the tendency to grow towards any direction.
