Internet Marketing Tips For Success
Let's face it, you can find information and tips all over the internet and if you
have long enough to spend on this task, eventually you will sort the wheat from the chaff. Do you have the time to spend working out what the gold nuggets are and which of them are plain out-of-date? If not, then as someone keen to start your own
internet marketing business, how are you going to learn the key strategies that have already helped make many create wealth using the power of the web? In this article I am going to cover a number of things you are going to need if you want to be successful and make money online.
Realize It's Not About You
Many people looking to make an income online are so fixed on the monetary aspects that they don't stop to think about the principle thing in the online business they want to create. What is that principle thing? It's your audience of course. You need to learn about your audience in the niche you are targeting. You want to know what makes them tick, what they are most interested in learning and build a relationship with them over time.
Niche and Keyword Research
1) Niche Research - Finding a profitable niche is a key component in your success online. You need to identify a niche where people are actively spending money. One way to do this is to see what is selling in marketplaces such as Amazon. You can tell what is selling by looking at bestseller lists and seeing how many reviews there are for a particular product. Also check out blogs and forums in your niche to assess what those people have problems with, what they want to buy and how they engage with each other.
2) Keyword Research - Choosing the right keywords can be the difference between success and failure online, particularly if you are relying on organic search engine traffic to your website. Not only that, you need to choose keywords which have a high commercial intent so that you don't attract poorly targeted visitors that are less likely to buy.
Website Marketing
By this stage you know what niche you are going to focus on and you also know what product or products you will be selling. At this point you need to create a website to sell these products either as a merchant or as an affiliate. The type of website you build will depend on what you are offering to your audience. You can make money from blogs, squeeze pages or via a page with a sales letter for that particular product.
Skills You Need to Master
Learn To Write Effective Copy - It doesn't matter if you are creating a large written sales letter or a simple squeeze page, you need to know what words to put on your pages to encourage and persuade your visitors to take an action.
Email Marketing - Ignore this advice at your peril if you want a sustainable online business. Not only do you need to build a list but you also need to write emails that communicate with your subscribers and build a relationship with your audience. Offer something such as a free piece of software or report in exchange for their email address and then deliver on what you have promised.
Driving Traffic
You can have the greatest website in the world with fabulous sales copy and a product that people are keen to purchase if they see your offer, but unless they know about it, they will never purchase anything and you will make no money. This is why traffic is so important once you have identified and took action on the elements mentioned earlier in this article.
There are many different methods to drive traffic. In this article I am going to focus on a couple to get you started.
1) Social Marketing - Use social media platforms such as Twitter and Facebook to connect with people in your niche and update these two platforms with content that your readers will follow with interest. Provide blog updates to position yourself as an authority in your target niche market. Include links back to your offer and blog where your readers can learn more.
2) Back Link Campaign - If you want organic traffic from the search engines, then you will also need to get some useful links back to your website. Find blogs that allow you to comment on relevant topics and include a link back to your site. Also use platforms such as Hubpages and Squidoo to create valuable content and link back to your site naturally. Other options include press releases, directory submissions and guest posting on popular blogs.
Remember, your job as an internet marketer is to understand your audience, work out how they tick and what they need from you. Once you figure out how you can help them, you can deliver real value by providing the products and services they really want.
