Governments are attempting to set up firewalls to block lucrative material such as child pornography and terrorist activity.

As the saying goes, there are always two sides to every argument. On the one hand, the internet was created as a free market, a place that was not necessarily controlled by borders and laws similar to those of nations and countries. Companies providing mobile broadband have started to realize the necessity of implementing some restrictions regarding the internet. Although they are not nearly as restrictive as governments like China, Cuba, and Saudi Arabia who are continually tightening controls on what people see and do while using the internet, they are offering some control. Parents especially appreciate this measure, as more and more children are gaining access to the internet through their handheld device. While it is easier for parents to regulate and monitor the childs use on the home computer, a cell phone is much less accessible.

Depending on how much control you want to implement with your mobile broadband use, you can purchase different devices. Depending on the company you sign up with on your 4G network, you can have more or less restriction with online use. The future of the internet is unsure, as it is the future. However, it seems to be heading into the direction of more restriction, especially in consideration of policies of such countries as Australia and China. While they might be stopping such use of websites that instruct bomb making or illicit child pornography, there is also a downside. By regulating internet use, they are also restricting freedom of use of innovative sites that could help farmers produce better crops, information for researchers and scientists, and expanding the minds of their youth.
