Presidential teleprompters hit Manhattan Just when you thought the world is overloaded

with useless gadgets comes a device that makes so much sense you wonder why nobody thought of it before. Now even the simple on camera interview gets a new twist. Documentarian Errol Morris has devised a teleprompter-like setup in conducting interviews which he has named the Interritron TelePrompter.The piece of equipment is rigged in front of the lens usually a video camera); however, instead of displaying a typed script, it is used to project the image captured by a video camera trained on the questioner who is located just a few yards away

So, the interviewee can look directly into the lens of the camera to see Morris' face while talking rather than off in some other direction .

The camera focused on Morris can also be arranged with a prompter displaying the subject (using the "video assist" output if a movie camera is used on the subject). Thus, the two people will be able to carry carry out a virtual face-to-face interview for the event . The usefulness of this invention is to allow the interviewer and his subject to talk with each other while looking directly into the lens of the camera.Before the creation of the Interrotron Prompter both parties in the conversation needed to look into a unblinking camera lens rather than into the face of the individual in the show

No matter if the interviewer stood directly next to the camera tripod, the the interviewee almost always appeared to be looking the wrong way .

This new product is now an industry standard device found on video interview locations
