The Flying Kite

Last night, my dorm mates and I talked about our first precious gift that we got

. One of my dorm mates said her first precious gift was a pen given by her father. It was an expensive pen bought abroad by her father when he was on an abroad business trip. Her pen reminded me of my first precious gift that I got from my father. In fact, it was my only precious gift that I ever got. It was a stress ball, a bear stress ball. My bear stress ball was very cute. It accompanied me years after years until I went to the university. Now, I left the stress ball to accompany my mother. When she missed me, she could look at the bear stress ball.

My father had left me and my mother for ten years. Every time I missed him, I looked up at the sky and the shining stars told me that he was living happily in the heaven. It was a peaceful land where there was no coal, no mines and no coal mine accidents. My father was a coal miner. He had been working in the small coal mine since he was only seventeen years old. Many years' working trained him to be an experienced worker. So he had to go to the coal mountain every time. It was very dangerous for the coal mine owner didn't do any protective measurements to safeguard the miners. My mother worried my father a lot. She persuaded him to change a safer job but my father refused for he thought that the wage of coal mining was higher than the other jobs that he could do. My father was just a junior high school student so he thought he was lucky to get the coal mining job which could help him feed our whole family. I would never forget that day when my father's fellow worker came to my house in a hurry and asked my mother to go the coal for the mountain collapsed and my father was inside of it. When we arrived at the coal mountain, we found my father was lying on the white cloth. His face became black by the covering ashes. He must have experienced horrible things when he was dying for his eyes were wide open. I was scared to cry by his appearance. When he was covered by the white cloth, I realised that I lost him forever.
