Invisalign Is The Ultimate Alternative To Adult Braces

Many of us reach adulthood without having had braces on our teeth as kids

, and many of us regret it in hindsight. However the thought of wearing braces at my age appeals to me even less than it did back then. The most difficult part for me is the fact that traditional braces are so inconvenient. We all love being told that we look young for our age, but sporting a mouthful of wires is not very appealing when you're a working professional.

I can barely squeeze lunch into 30 minutes and can you imagine adding the 20-30 minutes needed for brushing and flossing if I were wearing metal braces? Add to that, the fact that there are some drinks and foods that I would not be able to touch if I wore with traditional braces.

There is still hope for us adults who have less than perfect teeth. Unlike the traditional metal braces of our youth, new technology presents us with braces that are virtually invisible. That's where Invisalign clear aligners prove to be the clear alternative to traditional braces. They are nearly invisible so people will barely notice that you are wearing them.

They are removable and easy to clean. You can take them out for eating, performing dental hygiene, or if you've got a party or special occasion to attend. Clear aligners are a way to straighten your teeth without resorting to orthodontics. This procedure saves you time in the dentist office, saves you money, and fits better with an active, busy lifestyle.

However, I also noticed some disadvantages in this orthodontic option. One is that this can be misplaced easily. Some of my friends had their Invisalign lost. So, if I were you, make sure you remember where you place your appliance.

Another disadvantage is that this is not really invisible at all. When you go close up on a person who is wearing one, it is still noticeable.

Other than those, I also have to wear retainers after the whole Invisalign treatment plan. Just like ordinary orthodontic treatments, this is a must.

Invisalign braces are much more comfortable to wear than traditional wire braces. There is no rubbing or abrasion on your gums, tongue or teeth and because they are so easy to wear, you may even forget you're wearing them.

With Invisalign clear aligners, your teeth will be straightened anywhere between twelve and twenty-four months. The clear aligners are designed by computer. You will change the aligners periodically until your teeth are where they need to be. You will not need to visit your dentist as often as your scheduled visits with traditional braces.

Each aligner is worn for approximately 2 weeks and then switch to the next one in the series. The only other thing you will need to do is to make a quick visit to the Cosmetic Dentist once every six weeks so the staff can check on your progress. It really is as simple as that so if you think that Invisalign braces sound like the perfect solution to straighten out your smile.
