Is It Advisable To Continue Working In Your Current Occupation Or Not?
Most employees stay in a company when they are happy with the benefits they are receiving
. Others are just not satisfied with salary and benefits. It seems like they are looking for something more than just money. That is a good thing since no one can really get satisfied if they just work for the dough. You must really like and enjoy what you are doing. So before jumping into the wagon of career change, think about the factors that may affect your actions first.
Name your top ten criteria for a perfect job and list them down. In these criteria include the part you would want to play in a team or organization, the type of leader you want to lead your team, the company location and the compensation you would want to receive annually. By doing this you'll be able to identify and go through some options before you decide to move to another company.
Give points to each criterion you have written on your list. This way you will be able to evaluate which one is most important to you. Compare criteria such as location and compensation. If you want to work near your home, give the location factor the highest point.
Rate your prospects too. Find out about each company you are targeting by researching in the internet or by reading their brochures. The more information that you gather the better. If a certain company can offer you more than what other companies can offer, put it also at the top of your list.
By this time you should have already determined the top companies from your list of prospects. Now ask yourself which among these top companies can offer you the best opportunity in reaching your goals. Find out in which company you want to plant yourself and bloom there as the mighty tree that you are.
But don't go and pack all your things just yet. In every decision-making, patience is the most important element. It doesn't mean that you can immediately leave and transfer to the building across the road right after you have done your evaluation. Give yourself more time. Six to seven months maybe, and if the situation doesn't improve, then it's time for you to cross to the other side.
