How much can I expect it will cost to paint my home?
Now of course prices vary from area to area, neighborhood to neighborhood, commercial to residential and from contractor to contractor.
With that being said for my area here in the Volusia County, Florida an exterior paint job would start at $1.00 per square foot to even as high a $5.00 per square. For a typical 1500 square foot stucco home here in Florida, you can expect to pay at least $1.00 for the body and if you paint the soffit the price would start around $1.50 per square foot. So to paint the exterior of your 1500 square foot home you can expect to pay at least $3250.00.
This will include pressure washing home, drive and walk ways.
High Quality Caulking will be used in all areas that need to be sealed.
Putting a coat of acrylic sealer on the stucco, and primer on any raw or weathered wood.
One heavy top coat of a top of the line paint with your choice of colors.
All non-painted areas will be covered and protected.
All cleaned up and touched up.
This type of paint job will last a minimum of five years or until you are ready to change colors again. You will want to pressure wash the home at least once a year and your contractor should provide this service for a fair fee between $200.00 and $400.00
This is a starting base price and will increase with steep and high work. It will increase with extra wood work like windows with sashes and any other out of the ordinary task needed to complete the job.
In different parts of the country where the homes and two or more stories with steep roof pitches and much more detailed trim the price will go up considerably.
For and interior home in Florida expect to start out with a base of $1.00 per square foot. Here is an example of how it will break down:
Wall - $1.00 per square foot or $125.00 per applied gallon.
Ceilings - $0.50 per square foot, if they are 8 foot high and flat.
Trim- $0.50 per square foot for base, doors and door trim if done with the paint job. Prices may vary for trim only or with detail work, crown molding, chair rail or some ornamental.
Closets around another $0.25
For a standard interior 1500 square foot Florida home fully painted expect to pay around $3375.00. You can do the math on any other combination. Always insist on top-of-the-line paint and products.
