I have been writing about social media marketing for quite some time and my first impression was it is a free or low cost marketing strategy that could be employed by businesses. But as time passed, and more research and reading done on the subject, I have realized that social network marketing is a daunting task and expensive if you want to create great content and make it work.
Ever heard the saying that "Time is Money"? Yes they are definitely correct. Time is money and your time is the most valuable asset you have. I do believe in what other marketing experts are saying that for social media to work it takes a lot of time effort and expertise.
Most business owners see the opportunity in saving money from dabbling in social media marketing. They will spend countless of hours trying to craft a great article. Add in the time spend on creating a subpar video unless that is their line of business. Most of these businesses discover that this new project of theirs will start to eat up a lot of their valuable time. There are even instances when the time they spend on these social network is not generating any revenue and is thus considered a waste of time. So do you want to waste your time?
In a financial seminar I attended has mentioned "Time is the great equalizer". I have reflected on this and know that this is true. It does not matter who you are, may you be the president or a farmer or anybody, we all have 24 hours a day 7 days a week. The question is how are you spending this time?
It would seem that I am against social network marketing but contrary to that I do believe that this marketing tool is needed to increase company revenues. There is no sure, fast and easy way of earning millions unless you luck out and hit the lottery.
With the decline on traditional advertising social media marketing is the way of the future. I therefore could say that social media marketing is expensive and is all worth the expense. By outsourcing your company's social media marketing you gain back the time to managing your own business and some free time to play golf while your social network marketing firm or your business partner use their expertise in providing your company continuous excellent content and gain that return in your investment.
