Is The Fat Burner Diet Right For You?

The majority of diets focus on counting the number of calories that you consume

. The Fat Burner Diet is different because it focuses on the nutritional value of the food and its affect on the body. Therefore the philosophy behind the fat burner diet is that the correct consumption of nutrients will reduce, or as its title suggests burn the fat.

The foods that are recommended for the Fat Burner Diet are low fat foods that contain plenty of fibre and complex carbohydrates. This diet has been specifically designed to lower the intake of saturated fats that are known to put weight on. There is an emphasis on taking essential fatty acids. Do not get alarmed or confused about the word fatty as essential fatty acids or EFAs are considered good fat and help to reduce your weight especially, when taken in conjunction with low fat foods. Good sources of essential fatty acids are oily fish such as salmon, mackerel and herrings. Nuts and seeds are also a rich source of these EFAs. In terms of complex carbohydrates used within this diet they are derived from sources such as vegetables, wholegrain foods, beans, lentils, pulses. Fresh fruit is also an important part of the diet.

One of the notable omissions from the Fat Burner Diet is sugar. There are two specific reasons for this. The first reason is that sugar has no nutritional value and is easily converted by the body into fat. The second reason is that blood glucose has a determining factor on our appetite. When our blood glucose level drops we start to become hungrier which increases the risk that we will overeat. On the other hand if our blood glucose levels are too high some of the excess is turned into fat. Even though fruits are considered part of the diet certain fruits such as bananas are considered as increasing the blood sugar levels.

As well as sugar there are certain other food types that are omitted. These include stimulants such as caffeine and alcohol.

This diet is recommended for gradual weight loss rather than a rapid weight loss.

If you have a health condition or food allergy you should seek the advice of a doctor or professional nutritionist before changing your diet.
