If you're looking for things to do in Cabo, grab your fishing rod!

This time of year is great for the northern parts of Cabo to the Golden Gate and Finger banks; these spots are famous for their high influx of striped marlin this time of year. Fishing experts say it's because of November full moon patterns, creating an awesome feeding opportunity for schools of marlin to congregate back into Cabo.

Whatever the reason, there have been record numbers of catches of striped marlin in the area. But what's the key to these fishers' successful numbers? The answer: bringing their bait with them! That's right, adventurers if you want to be a successful striped marlin fisherman in Cabo this time of year, you have to bring your own mackerel due to an intensely limited supply among bait vendors. So, determined fishermen are catching their bait along the way to the fishing grounds in hopes of snagging themselves some epic numbers of fish!

A piece of advice: if you're planning on getting your fishing license in Cabo, you can't pay with your US dollars anymore. You'll need to have pesos in order to purchase your license and materials at the marinas, so be sure to get them the day before your trip you definitely don't want to be stranded with a bucket of mackerel and no way to use it!

Other fish in the area that appear this time of year include the yellowfin tuna, dorado, and wahoo, but their numbers aren't even close to those of the striped marlin. Another plus to heading down for things to do in Cabo around this time of year: their weather has fallen to a lovely 60 degrees. That's cold for the locals but refreshing for many of our adventurous readers!
