Nestled in the quiet comfort of Loudoun County, Stanley Martin's Greene Mill Preserve is a rural village of 224 planned homes set amidst a 340 acre nature conservancy. I've heard that from so many of my neighbors at Greene Mill Preserve, regardless of how long they've lived here. The enthusiasm seems to have no expiration date! And it's not just because it's only three miles to great shopping and dining (Brambleton/Fox Theaters) and an easy jump to the Greenway, but because it feels so far from the hustle-bustle of city life.
I knew it would take a special place to make me comfortable downsizing my emptying nest from a fairytale cottage in the country. The entire design of the neighborhoodhouses with porches situated close to sidewalks to encourage social interaction; attractively landscaped gathering spots like the Village Green, the Tot Lot, the Butterfly Garden, and the Pond Overlook; and activity sites like the extensive Nature Trails, Pool and Clubhouse, and the planned Sport Courtdeliberately promotes a relaxed, neighborly atmosphere. One look at the Garnett townhomes and Stanley Martin's impeccable commitment to design was obviousthe sensible, open living arrangement; the abundance of windows; the luxury items included as standard rather than expensive options; the generous moldings throughout; the selection of elegant design options; right down to the considerate placement of outlets! Since I moved into "GMP" six months ago, it's been all I hoped for. Everyone from Stanley Martin, or representing them as a contractor, has been cheerful, polite, personable, and eager to resolve any issuesimmediately, whenever possible.

Walking my greyhound, I've met neighbors, kids, and dogs from all parts of GMP. People wave when they drive past, stop to chat when they're outside, participate enthusiastically at events like the Halloween Party (whether or not they have kids involved) and unofficial activities like Thanksgiving morning touch football on the Village Green. It's not just a sales pitch in a brochure: this is reality! However, I cannot guarantee that your new GMP neighbors will volunteer to assemble your new grill; shovel your driveway while you're sleeping; or throw fantastic birthday, New Year's, and Super Bowl parties, but mine did! And as I've said repeatedly since I moved here, to whoever will listen,
