Jack Johnson Tickets - Johnson Turns Attention To Oil Spill

Jack Johnson is a man of many interests

Jack Johnson is a man of many interests. As a youth, he had his eye on being a professional surfer, but that dream was replaced with one that saw him as a singer/songwriter. He has become one of the most well-known singer/songwriters over the past several years with his laidback tunes and emotive lyrics. In that time, he has also proven that he has an unquenchable desire to help others. His tours and albums routinely benefit a variety of causes, many of which are environmental in nature.

Johnson has continued his reputation as a philanthropist recently, when he donated thousands of dollars toward oil spill relief in the Gulf of Mexico. According to Spinner, Johnson will work alongside the All at Once Campaign, which works to encourage people to donate and volunteer. The donation will come through Johnson's charity, the Johnson Ohana Charitable Organization, and the total could reach up to $70,000 through direct donations and matching grants. Some of the organizations that will be helped by the total include the Gulf Restoration Network, National Wildlife Federation, Galveston Bay Foundation and many more.

Johnson's effort for the Gulf Coast isn't his only charitable endeavor as of late. He is also working with Brita's FilterForGood Campaign on his new 2010 To the Sea Tour. Brita's FilterForGood Campaign will be the source of the free water refill stations at all of his U.S. tour dates. The aim of Brita's FilterForGood Campaign is to spur the masses to use reusable water bottles instead of disposable plastic water bottles in order to cut down on plastic bottled water waste. The campaign charges followers to sign a pledge to only use reusable water bottles and to spread the word to friends. Followers can also purchase a FilterForGood water bottle to help the cause.

Speaking of Jack Johnson's tour, it kicked off its U.S. leg in Hartford, Conn. on July 9. He has North American dates booked throughout the rest of the summer and fall, hitting spots like Salt Lake City, Dallas, Atlanta, Orlando, Tampa, Vancouver, Phoenix, Los Angeles and more. He will also be part of the Mile High Festival in Colorado on Aug. 14. Jack Johnson tickets are always popular, no matter where in the world he tours. After his North American dates, Johnson will be heading to another surf spot, Australia, as well as New Zealand.

Johnson is currently touring in support of his latest album, To the Sea, which was released in June of 2010. That album has already yielded the single "You and Your Heart," and more are sure to follow. The album shot to the top of the charts in the U.S. as well as other countries. Johnson has been riding high on the music world since the release of Brushfire Fairytales in 2001, and he has released many top albums since then. Some fan favorite tunes from past albums include "Sitting, Waiting, Wishing," "Upside Down," "Better Together" and many more. Throughout his career, Johnson has set himself apart from other music stars for his ability to remain down-to-earth despite worldwide success, and he continues that reputation with his newest release.
