Jaguar Land Rover Supports Englands 2018 World Cup Bid

Tata Motors-owned Jaguar Land Rover has sealed its official support for Englands bid to host the 2018 Football World Cup

. The signing of the agreement brings the two iconic luxury British marques Jaguar and Land Rover as providing the official vehicles to boost Englands bid with a supply of four Range Rovers, a Land Rover Discovery 4 and four Jaguar XJs for the FIFA inspections to be made later this August.

The Indian company is also supplying a couple of jaguar XFs for the 2018 team for its local business transport requirements.

At England 2018, we are committed to proving we have the qualities required to stage the worlds biggest tournament and to have the support of brands that are so recognisable across the entire globe is tremendous news, said Andy Anson, England Chief Executive for the 2018 World Cup Bid

Geoff Cousins, Managing Director of Jaguar UK echoes the same sentiments with John Edwards, his counterpart for the Land Rover UK when he said that the FIFA delegates are sure to experience the best of what Britain can offer with the Range Rover, the Discovery 4 and the Jaguar XJ and XF cars, adding that we are proud to be supporting the England 2018 World Cup bid.

Rugby Sponsorship In the Works

This comes as Jaguar Land Rover also becomes the official sponsor of the Coventry Rugby Football Club I is 2010-2011 season. The sponsorship will have Jaguar Land Rover support academic and sporting initiatives with the city where it currently employs about 2,000 local residents and administers is Education Partnership Centre that supports 7,000 school children.

The company, through Jaguar Land Rover Academy, has been strongly supporting community programs with educational institutions that enable local young talents to gain opportunities for rugby qualifications.

Its Education Partnership Center has a presence in the Coventry and Warwickshire club grounds to extend the work it is doing with local schools, communities and sports groups to source and develop the next generation of rugby players.

Land Rover recently got into a 4-year sponsorship deal with both the Rugby Football Union and the Premier Rugby to host a new nationwide tournament called, the Land Rover Premiership Cup.

This is expected to reach about 40,000 school children over the sponsorship period. Land Rover happens to be the official vehicle of both the Premier Rugby and England Rugby, the overarching umbrella group of the countrys 12 Guinness Premiership clubs.

In addition, the Academy of Sports was launched by Jaguar and counts both Shane Williams and Gareth Edwards, considered heroes of the Welsh Rugby, as its patrons. The Academy has set up the Bursary Fund to recognize and inspire the best sporting heroes of British rugby.

It is also sponsoring an annual Awards Ceremony, a unique club that is home to the best of British sport and a website that celebrates local and national sporting achievement and talents.
