Sophomore Nathan Stanley was projected to be the starter but that obviously could
change now as Masoli is a better natural athlete with the experience of winning a conference title. Last year Masoli threw for 2147 yards and 15 touchdowns while running for 668 yards and 13 TD's. He seems to be the perfect fit for Nutt's "Wild Rebel" offense. The Ole Miss schedule sets up perfectly for Masoli to catch on as they open with Jacksonville State followed by a game at Tulane, then back home against Vanderbilt, Fresno State, and Kentucky. The first tough rest for the Rebels isn't until October 16 at Alabama.
