Joint Venture Partnerships Can Happen Anywhere...even The Bathroom!
While attending a recent event filled with incredible and successful Internet marketers
who were there to create joint venture partnerships, I was astonished to learn how many layers there are to the joint venture "partnership" process. I'll share three that really stood out.
One of the MOST important layers is the relationship. In a room of 50-60 people, you'd think there is no way I'll be able to meet, connect and remember so many. But as with most things in life, like clients, you attract who best matches you and your energy and you gravitate toward the same.
The host, a wonderful man and highly successful marketer, Ken McArthur, designed the event and exercises to create the most collaborative environment possible, which made it easier.
The next layer is listening to so many possibilities and filtering those that can work for you. This is NOT easy. It's like a smorgasbord of opportunities that can give you and your business more visibility, more credibility and an influx of cash, while spreading both the risk and rewards. However, you have to bring yourself back to..."is this really that good for MY business?"
What makes this a challenge goes back to the first layer - you've begun to build a relationship, though brief, and you want to support and help everyone you connect with. But once again, the objective in every joint venture is a win-win so you must think of your business first.
Finally, you want to look at the impact of the joint venture and how your list, clients, time, money, effort will all play in the design, delivery and results of the partnership. All of these will be impacted in some way, and so will your reputation as a businessperson and joint venture partner. So again, the relationship building aspect is so critical to your success and it is where you want to spend most, if not all of your time, initially.
Now having shared these three layers, let me show you a fun example of a relationship built, spreading the risk and reward, and based on the rising numbers in YouTube is having a positive impact. This JV unfolded before my very eyes (though let me be clear - I was not in the men's room! Smile) and was completed in less than 24 hours while at the event.
The collaboration led to a funny and true video in which my new friend (and now video star!) Eppie Vojt partnered with an Emmy award winning videographer to create "Bathroom Tai Chi." It's really funny! Check it out on YouTube at this link: http://youtu.be/qQrdKO5KCVg
If you're not adding joint ventures to your business and marketing plan, you're missing out on so much. Test the waters by getting into relationship, first, with an entrepreneur whom you respect and have similar pursuits. Then collaborate and help each other create that win-win joint venture partnership!
