Kanchanaburi Thailand

I went & visited all the historic world war 2 sites & started at the Kanchanaburi

War graveyard (Don Rak), it's a well maintained graveyard & has the remains of 7000 Allied POWs who perished in the work of the construction of the death railway.

Having only been to Kanchaburi four times lots of years ago I thought it was time to see it again as i have been attracted by its long history. it's one of Thailand's largest provinces coming in at 3rd largest in Thailand.

Also on the list of places I desired to visit was Hell Fire Pass Memorial Museum. Established by the Australian Government, it houses a mini-theatre & collection of information, photographs, equipment & utensils used in the work of the construction of the Death Railway. What they had to go through digging through solid rock & battling starvation & illness did appear to be hell on earth. I would recommend to someone.

After a morning of sight seeing I headed to Sai Yok national park to do some fishing which was about an hour drive away, the river is & is quiet & relaxing. My friends & I caught 12 nicely sized fish & cooked them in a bonfire which tasted great, it's a great place to fish & I will be going back hopefully sooner than later.

A day of sight seeing & fishing was great & my friends & I desired to check out the nightlife & relax next to a few beers at a pub or disco. At our accommodation Ploy's Guesthouse right next to the river Kwai, there is a few bars opened until 2am.

As they only stayed for a short time they did not get to see much else, I will must make our next trip a few days longer to discover the remainder of Kanchanburi I will must see the tiger temple, jungle trekking, rafting & far more.
