When you are running on a treadmill you have to make sure that you are safe

. There are not a lot of people that think about the consequences of not adhering to the simple safety tips that you should be adhering to while you are on a treadmill.

First, you have to make sure that you are not pushing yourself harder than you should. There are a lot of people that get themselves into trouble when they are on the machine because they are just too tired and they are working too hard.

The more that you know about the way that you should be running on the machine the better off you will be. Instead of over working yourself make sure that you slowly build up your speed and your incline.

This is the best way to ensure that you do not end up over your head. When people start their workout too hard they tire too quickly and increase the chances of falling off of the machine and hurting themselves.Keeping Your Body Safe While Running


When you are in control of your body and you have the power to stop and go when you please you are much more able to avoid accidents. It is when you push yourself past a certain point that you lose control and can hurt yourself.

Obviously, you have to know what your limit is so that you do not go past that limit. Taking the time to figure out what your fitness level is and how you should be performing may be very beneficial to your workout.

You should also make sure that you utilize all of the safety mechanisms that are built into the machine. These are built there for a reason and will help you to enjoy your workout without getting injured or hurt.

There are a lot of people that refuse to wear the safety wrist bands or the safety clips when they are running. No matter how dorky you feel, you should always make sure that you have the safety wristband or clip on.

If you were to fall off of the machine, this wrist band or clip would ensure that the machine would stop. When you fall and the machine does not stop you take the risk of getting stuck under the machine.

Falling under the machine and being stuck when the belt is moving can do some permanent and lasting damage. The belt can burn and take the skin off of your body and leave your muscles and nerve endings exposed.

As you can imagine, this can be very painful. You will be required to have surgeries and you may have damage that you will never be able to fully heal from if you get yourself caught in this situation.

You may not even realize, but entering in your weight and your age can be another safety mechanism. When you do this and you connect the heart rate monitor to your body you will be taking some preventative measures.

This will tell the machine where your heart rate should be throughout the workout. When you start to exceed the heart rate range you should be staying in the machine will notify you allowing you to make changes in your workout.

Of course, this requires you to actually listen to the promptings on the machine and make the necessary changes. As you are making the changes you should stay in tuned with what the machine is putting out.

There are not a lot of people that enter in this information for safety reasons. When you have to make sure that you are not working your heart too hard for medical reasons you should stay intently in tune with your heart rate.


Keeping your heart rate at a good level is something that is also necessary to ensure you are getting a good workout. When you are not working yourself hard enough you will be able to tell by the output on the machine.

Staying safe on a treadmill may be harder than you thought it would be. Take the time to understand your body and the messages that your body is trying to send you throughout your exercising routines.

When you are able to understand what your body is saying and you utilize the safety tools on the machine you will be much better off. You can have an excellent workout on the machine and by following these tips you will also be safe.
